More about vegetables!

Dear 5.9,

Here is a link to more information about common vegetables (that we may or may not like eating :p) Find out what you never knew about potatoes, tomatoes and carrots! There is also a vegetable identification quiz at the end to see if you can identify the different types of vegetables at your fingertips!

http://www.hort.purdue.edu/ext/senior/vegetabl/vegetabl.htm

Read about the potato fruit here - http://www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/hortnews/2004/7-2-2004/tomatopotato.html

Also, from my research on the internet, it is best not to eat potatoes after the shoots have grown or if the potato has turned green as it is likely to be toxic to humans and animals. - http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002875.htm

Quiz Time - The first three correct entries stand to win a prize! Submit your entries before Friday, 10 April! :D

1) Are all vegetables fruits? Explain your answer.

Enjoy,
Miss Lee

  1. NO.
If vegetables are fruits, they should have seeds... acccording to what I learn. But many kinds of vegetables DO NOT have seeds, hence not all vegetables are fruits.
